The Douglas UB1213 batteries that you obtain from us will be almost fully charged, but you should still charge them fully before first use, if it's going into a device that is always connected to the mains like a battery backup for monitoring or alarm system then you can miss this step as it will do it for you, it shouldn't take long, just until the charger lights indicates its ready, if really in doubt overnight will be more than enough but it's doubtful you would need to leave it on the charger that long, do not just install and use without this initial charge, unless as stated above, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing.
