Valve regulated lead acid with absorbed glass mat construction. this means they will not leak even if laid on their side, they are also not hazardous and can be used indoors as well as outdoors.
They have sometimes been used in large telecoms battery backup uninterruptible power supplies as well as mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs. where they are normally mounted in pairs to output 24v.
If going in an uninterruptible power supply then the built-in charger will take good care of the battery for you and most likely do a far better job of it than you could. If however, you will use a more mobile device that requires plugging in manually to complete the charging circuit then do so fully before first and after each use and if not used for extended periods then recharge every eight weeks.
These are compatible AGM batteries, AGM and VRLA, they will not leak even if mounted on the side.
