Even though the batteries you receive from us will be almost fully charged, you should still charge before first use. If the battery is fitted in something like a UPS system, you can miss this step as the onboard charging circuit will do a better job than you. It shouldn't take long until the charger lights indicate it's ready. If in doubt, overnight will be more than enough but probably not that long, you may well be impatient and use the equipment without charging, but it's worth waiting until it's fully charged as it will help to extend overall life expectancy.
It will probably not be apparent, but it can take up to ten charges and use your equipment before you can receive and hold a total capacity charge in your batteries. This is all quite a normal part of the conditioning process, after use recharge as soon as you can; you do not want to allow them to sit in a partially discharged state any longer than is required, do not attempt to remove the batteries deliberately; it will not rejuvenate them, it will only do them harm and will reduce the life span, if not using them make sure they are charged before any period of storage then recharge every 4-6 weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than twenty-four hours at a time.
