The Karcher Robocleaner RC3000 has been around since 2002, it was quite evolutionary in its design because it has its own service station, not unusual in today's models but the fact it could come back to be charged and empty it self without any interaction from its human owners meant it could keep going and become a turning point and reference for future types of robotic vacuum cleaners, it also had many sensors to stop it bumping into things and falling down the stairs but it did have problems in working on particularly deep carpet piles
