The battery needs no maintenance except of course to be kept positively charged, when you receive the battery it will take a little time before it can receive a full charge, normally it can take between four and nine charges and good use in the Panasonic cordless tool before it will be able to accept a full and proper charge, at this point the battery will be conditioned, thereafter you would be bast advised to charge after every use, do not leave it laying about with a partial charge and if not being used for longer periods say over the winter then charge every six or seven weeks.
