You should always charge your new motorcycle battery when it arrives and first use, after fitting make sure you go for a good run to get the energy back in the cells, all rechargeable batteries will take a number of uses and recharges before they are able to take a full capacity charge, sometimes this might be as many as ten, but its the normal way to condition them for future use.

This battery requires no maintenance, its sealed AGM, it does however need to be charged, if there are long periods when its not being used, perhaps the winter, our best advice would be to remove if from the bike and charge it every six weeks, we do not overly like the use of intelligent always connected chargers but that is better than leaving them abandoned all winter.
