The Bosch UniversalDrill-18 is a versatile cordless 18v drill and screwdriver. It has twenty torque settings in screwdriver mode with a maximum torque of 40Nm giving many variations for drilling in wood plastic and metal. Fitted with a two speed gearbox it can drill with speeds of 440rpm up-to 1450rpm. It has a single-sleeve 10mm keyless chuck for easy and quick change for drill and screw bits. It is quoted of having a maximum hole bore diameter of 10mm in metal and 30mm in wood.
This tool often came bare, that is with no battery, or with quite a small one, normally a 1.5ah, this offer is for a 3ah version of the battery for a long run time, this means generally more work possible on a single charge, and of course in common with all of the Power-4-All batteries can be used with other tools within the range.
Maintaining the battery charge is very important and should not be ignored, quite often tools like this only get used for a few weeks of the year, then abandoned in the garage or garden shed and forgot about for the duration of the winter, if you have other tools in the Power-4-All range then rotate the use of the batteries, the use will do them good.
If you leave them for many months without charging them you might find that they can no longer work in your charger. This is because inside there are lots of smaller cells. They will all slowly discharge at different rates. charging brings them back into balance. Unbalanced the charger may not recognise them. So the cells may still have plenty of life, but no longer chargeable in your charger. Not something we mind as you come back and buy another, but financially hard on your pocket.
The moral of this is to keep it charged, do so when it arrives and first use. If not being used for long periods then also every eight weeks. But this does not mean leave it on the charger, remove when fully charged. This would depend on the state of discharge and the capabilities of the charger, but over night will suffice if unsure.
