This offer is for a set of eight user replacement batteries, they are recommended valve regulated lead acid with absorbed glass mat. This means they can be mounted on their side without fear of spillage, perfect for rack mountable and tower systems. They are non-hazardous so safe for use in busy data centres, large offices and even the home office. The batteries installed in your system at the moment and these new replacement batteries will be lead acid which means they are environmentally friendly and can be recycled at the end of their life.
These batteries are to replace the APC RBC155 batteries which are used in many different UPS systems
How to extend the life of your batteries?
The manufacturer suggest that these batteries should last between two to five years when installed in a UPS machine. Which lines up with what APC say. We would recommend that once the batteries are installed into your system that you run the system without load as this will help them reset and extend the battery life for future use. We realise this is not often not pratical, especially in Hot Swap environments. Other tips on extending battery life are making sure the system is clear of dust, having good ventilation around the system, stored in a climate controlled room and using less than 40% load where possible.
These kind of batteries are mainly made of lead, so perfect to be recycled, please ensure that when they reached the end of their useful life that they are directed to a recycle centre for processing. Your local council will have information on your nearest one.
