How to charge and maintain your new Gtech CM01 battery?
Lawnmower batteries often die during certain times of the year when your lawn gets neglected and your battery is allowed to sit out in the cold shed for extended periods of time. However a little care goes a long way and if you follow the following steps you will make your battery last much longer. First of all, purchasing the higher nine ampere battery is a great start as that allows the battery to normally have more charge left in it after use. You should charge your battery until full upon delivery and before first use. Also make sure you fully charge after using before putting away, this is often the step missed by most users. Lastly, if you aren’t going to use it for a while then a top up charge every four weeks will help prolong the life.
Installation
This battery fits inside this casing that connects to your lawnmower, you will be required to open that casing up and swap over the battery inside. It is a very simple job as its only one battery and therefore only two wires, certainly within the capabilities of most. Also much cheaper than replacing the whole casing, if you can even find one for sale!
We have seen some that are soldered, while this is easy if you have a soldering iron, not so if you do not, we there have the option above to supply a couple of terminal adapters that can be crimped on the the cable with a pair of pliers, this will also make it easier in a few years time when you need to change the battery again.
