Full set of batteries as required for replacement in an APC RBC118 UPS battery module. They are valve-regulated lead-acid type as recommended to be fitted with a UPS system. They are also AGM and can safely be mounted on the side. so they can be used in both tower and rack-mountable installations. Deemed safe to use in busy data centres plus mission-critical environments like hospitals.

UPS batteries are normally good for between two to five years, those in very important areas should probably conduct a test every twelve months just to make sure they are still performing as you require. Things that may shorten the expected life span are a continuous load that is too high and often the most common is over-heating, they need to be in a well-ventilated or air-conditioned area, preferably restricting the amount of dust as this can reduce the effectiveness of internal cooling fans.

Recycling APC RBC118 batteries
These batteries are nearly all lead or PB in their structure. This makes them especially suitable for recycling, ensuring a very environmentally green method of energy storage for many years to come.
While it's not always possible or convenient especially in a hot-swap environment, if you get the opportunity it's always best to run the system up without any load for 24-hours to set the batteries up properly, this is often found to be beneficial later in the batteries life.
