A nickel metal hydride battery (NiMH or Ni–MH) is a type of rechargeable battery. The positive electrode chemical reaction is similar to that of the nickel–cadmium cell (NiCd), as both use nickel oxide hydroxide (NiOOH). A series of 1.2-volt cells will be combined inside the battery to produce the required voltage, which in this case is nine point six volts and 1800mAh. Because Ni-MH batteries are so long-lasting, maintenance should be a breeze. To keep the cells in good condition, charge them after each use and every three months if not in use.
