These two Back-UPS devices manufactured by APC are very popular and can be found throughout Europe in businesses and small homes alike. When power is interrupted or fluctuates beyond expected levels, APC Electric's Back-UPS instantly provide clean battery power to your sensitive electronics. In the case of a complete power cut, this will give you enough time to save documents and shut down the computer or any device connected to it without causing damage or immediate power shortage. It is also often used to run routers and modems. It has a total of eight outlets with a mixture of battery backup and surge protection. As this battery is maintenance-free and AGM type it is safe to be installed on its side as required by the UPS unit. We have attached the user guide to the downloads tab on this page for more detailed information but replacing the battery is not difficult. First of all, flip the UPS upside down and press the battery compartment cover to release the tabs then side the battery cover off. Remove the old battery just enough so you can take off the wires. Put the new battery in its place and connect the wires to it. Reinstall the battery compartment cover. Be sure that the release tabs lock into place.

A reasonable battery life span is between two and five years, but this is unfortunately very dependent on the general conditions it is subjected to. Ensure there is plenty of ventilation around the device, do not cover the vents or place it next to a radiator, and do not use it as a bookshelf. If the batteries get too hot all the time it will shorten the life span, the higher the constant load applied, the harder it works, which directly relates to battery life.
