This is a sealed lead AGM-type battery. It will not leak and can be mounted on its side, Valve-regulated sealed or VRLA. The case is manufactured of ABS and is flame-retardant.

The battery will have a good charge when it arrives. But you should always charge a rechargeable battery when it arrives and on first use, also after every use if there is no other form of charging. If there are long periods where the battery will not be used, recharge every six weeks to keep the cells in good order.
