The pair of batteries this wheelchair requires are stored in part of the base that splits in two making it a fairly simple job to replace once you have dismantled the wheelchair. With only perhaps a screwdriver and fifteen minutes of your time you should be able to take out the old batteries and replace with new but of course if you require assistance please seek advice from a professional or look in your manual for more detailed information.
Taking care of your batteries once installed is pretty straightforward although you will most certainly find conflicting advice out there. The main points to take away however are listed here. First, fully charge your batteries before first use and most importantly, after every use. Leaving your battery in a discharged state for any period of time is a sure fire why to ruin them. Secondly, do not leave on charge for longer than required, once the charger says it’s full it is fine to unplug. Lastly, if the wheelchair isn’t going to be used for long periods, top up with charge every month to keep the cells fresh and ready for next use.
The original batteries supplied are normaly budget 20ah batteries, ours are 22ah and we have the ability to upgrade them in the dropdown mnu above for more miles per charge.
