This physical size battery is often seen as a 110ah leisure battery, which makes this one interesting as its deep cycle is far better for storing energy, especially as it comes with the option of SAE terminals so it will slip straight into the existing space offering not extra, but usable energy.

We have fitted this battery in marine environments where they replaced a bank of leisure batteries that were also starting an engine but had now converted to a separate, more efficient and smaller starter battery. By doing so, it has greatly increased the capacity for the domestic bank, keeping the beers cold in fridge along with other essentials on the water. We have also fitted them as bow thruster batteries. Both these scenarios have been going for at least two seasons to date.

Although this battery is similar to a leisure battery size, you must remember that its deep cycle, it's going to do a much better job of storing energy, whether fed by solar, wind or shore power and offer far more usable energy because its deep cycle, but a leisure battery will always be better at starting an engine, just not as good at deep cycles.

We have also seen a vast improvement in fitments that would have used a leisure battery originally like floor cleaners that should really of used a deep cycle one to begin with, but there was not one available in that carcass size.

Charger your new battery when it arrives and first used, even though they are deep cycle capable it will always be better to maintain as close to fully charged as possible. Never try to full discharge, it will only shorten the life span of the cells. Never leave in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary; recharge after every use.

The terminals are bolted down using an M8 bolt, which is supplied, or SAE terminals can be used instead, which makes them easier to directly replace leisure 110ah battery sizes that would be better using deep cycle ones.

Technology is valve-regulated sealed lead acid, VRLA and AGM, no maintenance is required and they will not spill.
