The SG8000 diesel generator has a single-cylinder, four-stroke, 496cc, air-cooled engine with an electric start. They have tried to make the engine run as silently as possible with soundproofing; there are 230v and 115v site power outputs, and the fuel tank provides enough space to run continuously for up to ten hours.

The battery for the SG8000 on this page replaces the original. We have included a picture on the page so you can check it. We have seen fitment with the terminals reversed, but that might have been a one-off; if in doubt, send us a picture; it's easy to get to; open the front-hinged panel to see it.
As these machines are often used in areas or perhaps sites that are hard to reach, we also have a more powerful version of the battery, which might come in handy on a cold morning. The extended battery version can be found as an easy upgrade in the dropdown menu under the available options above.
Keep your battery charged; it's the only way to extend its life; set when it arrives and is first used (although it will already have a reasonable charge). Your SG8000 will do a good job charging the battery in everyday use, but remember it will probably take at least thirty minutes of running before it puts back the energy it used to start the engine. If the battery or the generator is not being used, recharge every six weeks to keep the cells healthy.
Please note that it will take up to ten uses in the SG8000 generator before the battery can accept total capacity. You will probably not notice it, but all rechargeable batteries go through the conditioning stage at the start of their productive life.
