The SIP Medusa T5500W is a petrol generator with a 390 cc four-stroke overhead-valve engine and electric start. It has 230V (32A) and 110V (32A) outlets, plus a 12V outlet. Rated at 5500w for peak output and a 5000w continuous plus, of course, an electric start with over eight hours of runtime on a tank of fuel.

The original battery supplied is 18ah, a little different to most on the market, with a positive terminal on the left side; ours is 22ah and can offer much more power for starting the engine, which may be more noticeable on a cold morning start.

If you look after your new battery, it will last a long time, saving you a lot of money in the long run. It will come almost fully charged, but you should always fully charge a new rechargeable battery when it arrives; if it is not being used, recharge every six weeks to keep the cells in good order. Remember that it will probably take 20 minutes of runtime to replenish the battery's energy after the engine starts.

It will take up to 10 charges and use in your equipment before a lead battery is conditioned to accept a full-capacity charge. This is normal.
