The YTX4 DFS12V-17 battery is often seen in portable plant mechanical equipment like petrol generators to start the engine.
The battery we are providing as a replacement for the YTX4 DFS12V-17 is valve-regulated sealed lead or VRLA and also AGM. It needs no maintenance, will not leak, and could even be mounted on its side without a spillage issue. It will take up to ten charges and use in the equipment before it can accept a full capacity charge. This is normal and part of the conditioning process that every rechargeable battery will go through from the new at the start of its productive life.
If the replacement YTX4 DFS12V-17 battery is not being used, then you should also recharge every four to six weeks. If it is being used in something like a generator to start the engine, then it will take at least thirty minutes of typical runtime before the used energy to start it has been replenished.
