The Strident GP12-1.2 battery replacement will not leak if used in portable equipment and can be mounted on its side. It is safe to use indoors and outdoors is not hazardous.

When you receive your replacement Strident GP12-1.2 battery from us, it will be reasonably high-charged. But you still need to charge them before first use fully; if it's going into a device that is always connected to the mains, like a battery backup for monitoring or alarm system, then you can miss this step as it will do it for you. It shouldn't take long until the charger lights indicate it's ready. If it is not being used, you should also recharge every six weeks to keep the cells in good order.
Most users will not even notice, but it will take several charges and associated use in your equipment before the Strident GP12-1.2 battery replacement can accept a full-capacity charge. This is quite normal and part of the conditioning process; if used in a portable device, make sure that you charge your new batteries after every use; they are capable of many charges, but this will reduce if you let run them down in-between.
