The AS1050R ships with two 12V 180Ah GEL batteries standard. These are true deep-cycle batteries, built to handle long discharge cycles without compromising efficiency or capacity over their lifetime. Each 180Ah battery is maintenance-free, sealed, and built for deep discharges, making them ideal for commercial cleaning equipment that needs long hours of operation between charges. GEL batteries use a silica-thickened electrolyte, so they won't leak or spill and are extremely resistant to vibration—a necessity in floor scrubbers that live their lives travelling around on rough floors.

To maintain these GEL batteries in good condition, charge them using a suitable deep-cycle charger that's specially configured for GEL chemistry. Charging should be done immediately after each use to avoid sulphating, which can reduce capacity over time. Never use a charger meant for flooded lead-acid batteries, as it could damage the GEL cells. Also, it’s best to avoid fully discharging the batteries—keep them topped up when possible, and if the machine will be idle for weeks, use a smart trickle charger to maintain voltage without overcharging.
