Below you will find we have listed all of the information on this page to help assist you in the renewal of a set of mobility batteries for your Hoveround Activa DM, it stores its required energy onboard using sealed lead storage batteries, these are 34-amp hour batteries, it uses 2 x 12-volt batteries, they are replacements for them these are of course as would be required, rechargeable, they are non spillable, safe and not-hazardous so can be safely used indoors, the cell composite is of AGM and VRLA which are capable of deep cycling which would also be required as they are often used extensively every day

When you get the batteries from us they will have a fairly high charge in them, but you still need to fully charge them before first use, it should not take that long, just until the charger indicates its ready, if in doubt overnight will be more than enough, you may well be impatient enough just to fit and use the equipment without charging but it's well worth waiting until its fully charged and will help extend overall life expectancy
You may not notice it but it will probably take a few charges and use in your equipment before you are able to receive a full capacity charge in your batteries, this is quite a normal part of the conditioning process, each time you have used your electric vehicle then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can, do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary, discharging the batteries fully will only reduce their life expectancy, it will do them no good and will cost you money in the long run, if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These 12-volt batteries are very resilient and can be mounted on the side without any issues so suitable for use in electric vehicles, deep cycle capable which of course is essential in electric powered devices, no leaking, which means they can be used indoors at well as the road or pavement, they are the recommended VRLA type and benefit from AGM technology they are not-hazardous so safe for airlines but you should check with them when you book your flight
You should confirm the code on your mobility equipment carefully, there are many that are very similar so you order the right battery set, if in doubt look at you old batteries, check the dimensions and take note of anything written on the side of them, we have also included the physical dimensions of the battery to make certain, this product is recyclable it is made mainly of lead which is easily transformed, please ensure they are disposed of properly at a recycling centre when they have fulfilled their purpose for you, more information about recycling can be found at the foot of this page
