Below you will find we have listed information to help you consider the decision on the purchase of a new set of mobility batteries for your Quickie P100 powerchair, the system utilises storage batteries, they are 34-amp hour batteries, it uses 2 x 12-volt batteries, they are replacements for them which are as would be needed in such an application rechargeable, they are of course non-spillable and not-hazardous so safe to use indoors, they have a AGM and VRLA type of cell which is what should be fitted in this type of electric vehicle, more information on the chemistry will be found below
Even though the batteries you receive from us will be almost fully charged you should still complete a full charge before first use, the time of the first charge will be dependent on the charger, just leave it on until its finished, do not be impatient, wait until this first charge has completed before thinking about using the equipment, it will contribute to overall battery life
It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, when you have used your devices then put the batteries back on charge, you do not want to allow them to sit in a partially discharged state, fully discharging your new batteries will reduce the overall life span and they will need changing earlier, this will cost you money in the long run, if it turns out there are periods where the equipment is not being used on a regular basis then ensure the batteries are fully charged before any period of downtime and then topped up every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These 12-volt batteries are valve regulated and AGM or absorbed glass mat, not need for any liquid as the acid is held within the glass mat, this means they will not spill and not-hazardous so safe for use around the home and or travelling, even aeroplanes but you should confirm this with your airline at point of booking your flight, they are deep cycle which would be required in this sort of application
Ensure that you order the right battery by carefully checking the code on your mobility device and comparing it to the information here, a lot of them are very similar so it can be easy to make a mistake, if in doubt check the batteries themselves, the dimensions and anything written on the side of them, we have included the physical sizes of the batteries so you can double check, the batteries themselves have a very high lead content so they are recyclable, more detailed information about recycling lead batteries can be found on a link at the foot of this page
