Both the Pride Spirit and the Spirit + Plus take as standard a pair of 12-volt 34-amp hour batteries, the specifications of which are below for your convenience, the Spirit plus is very similar to the Spirit with same luxurious standards with the added benefits of an enhanced lighting system and high back seat and a slightly faster turn of speed, the batteries are valve regulated, they will not spill and not-hazardous making them safe for travel on public transport and so on.

The batteries will come out to you almost fully charged but that first charge is always going to be important so ensure it is done before first use, also we would recommend that you charge after every use, it does the batteries no good being deliberately run down, they will last much longer if you can maintain a positive charge in them, also if not being used for long periods then give a top up charge every two months to keep the cells fresh and active.
The chemistry of these batteries are the recommended AGM, VRLA, Pb, sealed lead.
