Replacing the now discontinued Go chair by Pride Mobility is the all new Go chair. Re-engineered from the group up the powerchair has enhanced comfort and performance but hasn't lost its useful features like the ability to be able to break down into individual parts for transportation purposes. It also has an increased weight capacity so overall updated in all areas.
The standard-fit is for a pair of 12v 18ah batteries but we also supply 22ah to directly replace these, they are the same physical size so installing them would be no different. Having a larger ampere battery in your scooter means you will get more miles per charge or more importantly more residual charge left in the battery after a day's use which would increase the lifespan of the battery. Important note: If you are looking for the older version with the smaller 12ah batteries then there will be a link further down the page to them. If in doubt look at the picture of the battery box, they are very different for both.
Installation of your battery is very simple as the Pride Mobility Go chair comes with a battery box that you must slide out of your scooter. Firstly you read your manual for detailed instructions on how to replace your batteries. Open this box up and you will see two batteries in there, disconnect these carefully and replace them with your new ones, close the box and slide it back into your scooter, it is as easy as that.
The batteries require no maintenance but that does not mean they do not need charging, this kind of battery is capable of many thousands of charges, but only if it is discharged and a small amount, therefore you should charge after every use, and never leave the battery partially discharged, never charge for more than 24-hours and if not using for long periods charge every four to six weeks as all rechargeable batteries will lose a percentage of their charge every month which needs replacing.
These batteries have a high level of lead which makes them perfect for recycling, please ensure they are indeed recycled, it is great for the environment and a very green method of power, you will find more information about recycling on our recycle page.
