Below you will find details of a set of new mobility batteries you will require for the Chauffer mobility Viva MWD powerchair, it stores its required energy onboard using sealed lead storage batteries, these are 34-amp hour batteries, it uses 2 x 12-volt batteries, they are replacements for them which are of course rechargeable, deep cycle capable and they're sealed and will not spill any liquids, so safe to use indoors, they are AGM and VRLA offering a long life, more information on the chemistry of them will be found below
When you receive your order from us you will note that the batteries will be almost fully charged, but it is important to fully charge them before first use, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, you might just want to fit them and use, but that would be unwise, missing out on charging them first could shorten overall life expectancy
It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, once you have used your equipment put the batteries back on charge, do not let them sit in a partially discharged state for any longer than absolutely necessary, do not attempt to deliberately discharge the batteries, it will only do them harm and will reduce the life span, there may be many reasons for the equipment not be used on a regular basis, if there are protracted periods where this is the case then ensure the batteries are charged before hand and then topped up every four weeks but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours at a time
The battery type is AGM which is short for absorbed glass mat construction, they are also valve regulated, they means they can be used electric vehicles around the home or on the road without the fear of any leakage, with deep cycle properties that this type of installation would require, they will require no maintenance throughout their entire life span and are not-hazardous so safe for travelling including by air but you should check with your airline at point of booking your ticket
