The batteries will be delivered with a good charge in them, but you still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time, it should not take that long, just until the charger indicates its ready, if in doubt overnight will be more than enough, do not just install and go without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing
It may be apparent that it will take a few charges and associated use in your electric vehicle before the battery is capable of receiving a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, each time you have used your electric vehicle then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can, do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary, never go out of your way to deliberately discharge, this will only reduce overall life span, these batteries need to be kept charged, so if there is any reason where they are not be used then ensure they are charged beforehand and then every 4-weeks, but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is not maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page, both VRLA and AGM
