Charge your new batteries when they arrive and first use, if they are not being used for any reason then they should also be recharged every four weeks. In general recharge after every use, do not allow them to sit in a discharged even partially state for any longer than necessary, only charge until ready then remove, do not just leave on the charger 24-hours a day.
The batteries are recyclable, they are made mainly of lead and your local recycling centre will be only to pleased to receive them, they are a very environmentally green product with this in mind
