When you get the batteries from us they will have a fairly high charge in them, but you still need to fully charge them before first use, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, you may well just want to fit them and use the equipment, but do not miss this first step, it's worth waiting until the first charge has completed and it might contribute to over life span
It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, letting the batteries sit in a discharged state, even partially is not a good idea, as soon as you have used them put them back on charge, never go out of your way to deliberately discharge, this will only reduce overall life span, if for any unforeseen reason they is an extended period where you are not using the batteries make sure they are fully charged first, then recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These are 12-volt valve regulated sealed lead acid batteries and will not leak they are both AGM and VRLA, of course they are the required deep cycle kind and they are not-hazardous so safe for on the road and indoors as well as travelling by aeroplane, but of course you should confirm this with your airline at point of booking your flight
We offer the information on this page purely as a guide only, if you carefully check the code on your mobility equipment then you should be OK, many are very similar so it's worth being vigilant, if in doubt look at your old batteries, take note of the dimensions and anything written on the side of them, we have included the dimensions of these batteries so you can double check, as the batteries are made of lead they are recyclable and environmentally friendly, more information about recycling can be found on a link at the foot of this page
