The batteries will dispatched to you almost fully charged, but you will still have to charge them before first use, just charge them until your charger LED lights indicate that they are ready, you may well be impatient enough just to fit and use the equipment without charging but it's well worth waiting until its fully charged and will help extend overall life expectancy
it may well take a number of full charges and alternating use in your equipment for the battery to condition and be able to take a full capacity charge, this is quite normal, letting the batteries sit in a discharged state, even partially is not a good idea, as soon as you have used them put them back on charge, never try to discharge the batteries, with this type of technology it will only mean a shorter life, if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is not maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page, both VRLA and AGM
