Invacare produce very high quality power chairs and mobility scooters and the Power-9000 is no exception as it was very well received by the mobility community and had great reviews upon release. The Power-9000 has two different versions, this page is for the 16-inch or wider model which is able to take larger and more powerful batteries which we can supply, more details on this is further down the page.
What battery is right for you?
This powerchair uses deep cycle AGM or GEL batteries that stores the energy on board required to power the chair. There are a few different options available and this page offers them all, we have listed them here to make it easier for you to pick. On a powerchair like this we strongly suggest a GEL battery as they can discharge further than the AGM which is ideal on a powerchair.
The standard is a pair of 12v 35ah AGM batteries.
GEL 31.6ah, same physical size as the 35ah but with different terminals.
GEL 51ah, physically larger, higher amp, longer miles - the best you can get.

Battery Care
Even though the batteries you receive from us will be almost fully charged you should still complete a full charge before first use, your charger will indicate to you when it has completed a charge. The light will generally change to indicate this, you may well be impatient enough just to fit and use the equipment without charging but it's well worth waiting until its fully charged and will help extend overall life expectancy.
While is not something that most will even notice but it will take a number of charges and uses in the device before a full capacity charge is reached, this is a normal part of the conditioning process. Each time you have used your powerchair then you should put it back on charge as soon as you can, do not leave it sitting in a semi discharged state for any longer than necessary. Do not attempt to deliberately discharge the batteries, it will only do them harm and will reduce the life span. If for any reason there is an extended period where you are not using the batteries make sure they are fully charged first, then recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours.
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application. The VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling. There is no maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page. We have provided the information here only as a guide, you need to check the code on your mobility device carefully as so many of them are pretty similar so it's easy to make a mistake. You will also find we have listed the dimensions so you can make sure you are ordering the correct pack, looking at your old batteries, taking note of the dimensions and anything that may be printed on the side is probably the wisest thing to do.
