Below you will find details of a set of new mobility batteries you will require for the Pride mobility Shuttle. The electricity supplied from the mains is stored in deep cycle batteries onboard, they are 35-amp hour batteries, it uses 2 x 12-volt batteries. They are of course recyclable with deep cycle capabilities which would be required in a application such as this. The main component in the cells is lead this means they are a environmentally friendly as can easily be made into something else at the end of their life and the time comes for recycling, more information on this can be found on our recycling page.

The batteries will be delivered with a good charge in them but you still need to give them a full charge before using for the first time. You do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished. Do not miss out this important first step, it will help set them up and possibly extend the overall life expectancy of them.
It may be apparent that it will take a few charges and associated use in your electric vehicle before the battery is capable of receiving a full capacity charge, this is quite normal. Make sure that you charge your new batteries after each and every use, they are capable of many charges but this will reduce if you let run them down in-between. Never go out of your way to deliberately discharge, this will only reduce overall life span. These batteries need to be kept charged, so if there is any reason where they are not be used then ensure they are charged beforehand and then every 4-weeks, but do not leave on a charger for more than 24-hours.
These 12-volt batteries are sealed lead valve regulated or VRLA and further benefit from using AGM technology. This means they will not spill so can be used indoors or on the road or pavement without fear of leakage, capable of deep cycling as would be essential in this type of application. They are not-hazardous so safe for use in travel including aeroplanes but you should check with your airline at time of booking.
You should confirm the code on your mobility equipment carefully, there are many that are very similar so make sure you order the right battery set. If in doubt look at you old batteries, check the dimensions and take note of anything written on the side of them. We have also included the physical dimensions of the battery to make certain.
