The following information has been compiled to help you consider the purchase of new replacement mobility batteries for the Quickie Freestyle M11 powerchair. The electricity supplied from the mains is stored in deep cycle, rechargeable batteries onboard. These are replacements for the 12v 35-amp hour batteries that would already be installed in your electric vehicle. They are safe to use indoors, non-hazardous, not-spillable AGM and VRLA type of cells, much more detailed information about the qualities of these chemistries can be found below.
Upon receipt of your new batteries you will note that they have a good charge, but you will still need to charge them before using for the first time. While you only need to charge until the charger indicates that its finished it is very important and not a step you should overlook, do not just install and go without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span, it's well worth doing.
Unless you are a very extended user your will probably not even notice that it can take a number of charge and use in your equipment before a full capacity charge is achieved, this is all part of the conditioning process and completely normal. Make sure that you charge your new batteries after each and every use, they are capable of many charges but this will reduce if you let run them down in-between. Discharging the batteries fully will only reduce their life expectancy, it will do them no good and will cost you money in the long run. There may well be extended periods where the batteries are not being actively used, if so ensure they are charged fully beforehand and then recharged every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time.
