The batteries will dispatched to you almost fully charged, but you will still have to charge them before first use, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, this first step is important so do not ignore it, do not use without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span
You may not notice it but it will probably take a few charges and use in your equipment before you are able to receive a full capacity charge in your batteries, this is quite a normal part of the conditioning process, letting the batteries sit in a discharged state, even partially is not a good idea, as soon as you have used them put them back on charge, never try to discharge the batteries all the way down, this will only reduce the life span and cost you money in the long run, there may well be extended periods where the batteries are not being actively used, if so ensure they are charged fully beforehand and then recharged every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These batteries are deep cycle capable, which is essential in this type of application, the VRLA and AGM cells will not leak and not-hazardous so suitable for travelling, there is not maintenance required, except of course charging which we have covered on this page, both VRLA and AGM
