When your order is delivered to you the batteries will be almost fully charged, but you still need to complete a full charge them before first use, you do not need to leave it on for hours on end, just until the charger has indicated that it has finished, you may well be impatient enough just to fit and use the equipment without charging but it's well worth waiting until its fully charged and will help extend overall life expectancy
It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, you should fully charge your batteries as soon as you can after every use, do not leave them sitting in a semi discharged state any period unless necessary, you should never deliberately go out of your way to try fully discharge the batteries, this will only reduce its life span and cost you money in the long run, if for any reason you are not using them for long periods then you should recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours at a time
These 12-volt batteries are sealed lead valve regulated or VRLA and further benefit from using AGM technology, this means they will not spill so can be used indoors or on the road or pavement without fear of leakage, capable of deep cycling as would be essential in this type of application, they are not-hazardous so safe for use in travel including aeroplanes but you should check with your airline at time of booking
Check the code on your mobility equipment carefully to ensure you are ordering the correct battery set as many of them have very similar names of codes, if in doubt you could check the dimensions of the batteries and take note of anything that may be written on the side of them, the size of the batteries are also specified below so you can confirm, the batteries themselves have a very high lead content so they are recyclable, more detailed information about recycling lead batteries can be found on a link at the foot of this page
