Upon receipt of your mew battery order you will note that they have a good charge, but you will still need to charge them before using for the first time, it should not take that long, just until the charger indicates its ready, if in doubt overnight will be more than enough, this first step is important so do not ignore it, do not use without this initial charge, doing so can shorten expected life span
It's not something that most will notice but it will take a few charges and use in the equipment before a full capacity charge is reached, it's part of the normal conditioning process, you should fully charge your batteries as soon as you can after every use, do not leave them sitting in a semi discharged state any period unless necessary, you should never deliberately go out of your way to try fully discharge the batteries, this will only reduce its life span and cost you money in the long run, if for any unforeseen reason they is an extended period where you are not using the batteries make sure they are fully charged first, then recharge every four weeks but do not leave on the charger for more than 24-hours
These are 12-volt valve regulated sealed lead acid batteries and will not leak they are both AGM and VRLA, of course they are the required deep cycle kind and they are not-hazardous so safe for on the road and indoors as well as travelling by aeroplane, but of course you should confirm this with your airline at point of booking your flight
Check the code on your mobility equipment carefully to ensure you are ordering the correct battery set as many of them have very similar names of codes, if in doubt you could check the dimensions of the batteries and take note of anything that may be written on the side of them, the size of the batteries are also specified below so you can confirm, these batteries are recyclable the main component is lead which can easily be recycled, more information on this can be found at the bottom on this page on our recycling link
