We would think the battery level indicator on your stairlift is telling you it's time to call the engineers in to have the batteries replaced. It is a job you could do yourself and save a considerable amount of money. The batteries are housed in the chassis just under the seat, it probably takes someone who has not done it before at least twenty minutes, but hey, that's a good saving, and if you had to do it again, it would only take you ten minutes.

It would help if you referred to your manual for fitting, but the basic procedure is to disconnect from power before attempting. Pull up the seat and remove it so it's out of the way. You may have to remove the trim and safety pads from the chair to expose the Phillips screws holding the chassis together, which reveals the batteries. Then swap them over one at a time so you do not make a mistake and put it back together.
If you are not using your new Brooks-Lincoln or the slimline stairlift replacement batteries, then charge them on a suitable charger every two months to keep them in good condition.
