This battery is often used in pairs to output 24v in mobility scooters and chairs and is indeed a very popular size; if used in such an appliance, the charging is quite essential; charge before first use. You will find it will take several charges and use before it can take its optimum full charge. This is quite normal and is part of the conditioning process. After that, we recommend that you charge after every use; it will be far better if you can maintain as close to a full charge as possible at all times. This will significantly extend the overall life span. if you are not using it for long periods, we suggest a top-up charge every six to eight weeks.
Do not try to discharge this type of battery on purpose, doing so will only reduce its overall capability and cost you money in the long run, best to keep it fully charged but do not leave on a charger for more than needed and certainly not 24/7.
