Although the Abilize Stride Sport and Comforter are different mobility scooters that provide unique advantages, they require the same battery pack. That’s precisely what we are offering here, a pair of 12v-22Ah high-quality batteries. These will directly replace the current batteries you have installed. You can find these if you open the battery box underneath your seat.

Fitting the batteries in the Stride-Sport box is easy. Just turn the box upside down on something soft so it will not scratch the case. Undo the screws around the outside, twelve in total, with a Philips screwdriver; then there is one in the middle, do this last, either side of this one are two plastic tabs which, in effect, are the only thing holding the lid on. These tabs, which need to be pushed out to release, make it much easier when replacing them. Turn the box back, and you will see the batteries. There are only two cables on each but still probably safe to change one at a time. You can see a bar holding the batteries in place. Then reverse the order and put it back together. We have supplied pictures of the disassembled box, which may help.
Now that you have invested in a pair of brand-new batteries for your mobility scooter, you should look after them. Although they are maintenance-free, they require a healthy charging regime, which is surprisingly simple if you follow a couple of rules. Firstly, charge them until complete upon delivery and before first use, but never for more than twenty-four hours. After every use, charge them until complete and take them off. The batteries will hold their full charge for a good few weeks, so there is no need to recharge again before use. If, however, it will be more than four weeks in between uses, then a top-up charge will be helpful.
