The internal chemistry make-up of this power pack is lithium-ion, this type of technology is often seen in cordless devices as they are small, lightweight and have a high energy output compared to some others.
All rechargeable batteries need some care, ensure you charge this kind of battery before first use, do not put away discharged and charge every three months if not being used. Try not to leave on charge for more than required to get a full charge. Most of the time they need replacing before their life span is up is because they haven’t been looked after correctly so be sure to follow this guide.
This battery pack, in common with other similar types will have a number of small cells inside, these will combine to produce the required voltage, in this case twenty. They will also store the energy required to power as Amp-hour. Now all of these cells will naturally discharge at different rates, as the they do the voltage on them will drop, at different speeds. If it is allowed to run its course the cells will become out of balance and the charger will not recognise it rendering it defunct before it should be. So keep it charged and it will last a very long time. Allow it to sit in a discharged state and you will be back ordering another, now we prefer you ignore our advice, but for the sake of your pocket it may be wise to heed it.
