Looking after your new WP2000 batteries
Charging and maintenance, as with any rechargeable battery, are critical for long and healthy life. There may be many different pieces of advice out there, each slightly different, but if you follow a few basic rules, you should be fine. When you receive your batteries, the first thing you should do is charge them until they are completely charged before using them. You should also charge your battery until it is fully charged after each use as soon as possible and never leave it in a discharged state; a fully charged battery is a healthy one. If at all possible, keep at least a 20% charge in them after a day's use. Lastly, if going into storage or won’t be used for more than five weeks, top up with charge then to help slow down the natural self-discharge process.

Fitment of new WP2000 batteries
You may believe that your battery box does not resemble ours and that you only have one. If this is the case, you're looking at the casing that houses the batteries. This page is for the actual pair of batteries that are installed inside the case. The process of opening the casing is very simple and quick. There will be a few screws around the outside of the case; if you remove these, the pack will split open, revealing the two batteries inside. Simply take out the old batteries and replace them with the new ones. You can easily check before purchasing for peace of mind. When in doubt, consult a professional.

Environmentally Friendly
These are sealed lead-acid batteries, and as the name suggests, they are made primarily of lead. This also applies to your old batteries, so please take them to a facility that can deal with this product and transform it into something new, as lead is recyclable.

To open the box there are six screws, three either side which you can use a philips screwdriver to undo, and then there are the two 13mm bolts that hold on the retaining clips, these are all you need to remove to split the box into two peices for battery removal.
Now in real life the box is tight, the original batteries are prone to swelling if its been overcharged, so can be a little tight. We have noticed that some of them have been soldered, these can either be resoldered or snipped off close to the battery and crimp on termials to make it easier the batteries are charged again in the years to come. We have installed here both the 22ah and 26ah batteries; the latter is tight but doable, with, of course, the extra capacity making it worthwhile, and while you are doing it as it's fiddly, you might as well.

If you want us to do the whole job for you, this would entail us collecting your battery box from you and bringing back to the workshop, opening and fitting new batteries, and sending it back, the whole job takes two or three working days from your door to back again.
