- Pro Rider Eydon Plus battery
The Pro Rider Eydon-Plus is the larger sister of the non-plus version and has a physically larger battery box to take longer running batteries, therefore capable of doing more miles per charge. Your battery box will be more than six inches tall not including the handle. If you have the smaller version of the scooter ie. a battery box less than six inches not including the handle then a link to that page will be in the alternatives tab.
The battery on this page is 18ah, we can also supply a 22ah which means more miles per charge but with the same case size, you can upgrade above to select the longer running battery pack.
These batteries are sealed non-hazardous, not-spillable AGM types. This means they are great for transportation including airlines which accept these however you should tell them at the point of booking.
Fitting your new batteries is easy, just roll the box over and undo the screws holding the lid on your battery box. Turn it back and then the lid can be taken off exposing the batteries. Then just change one at a time, there are only two wires to each battery so you shouldn’t go wrong, but perhaps if it makes you feel more comfortable take a picture at this point so you have something to refer to should you get called away before finishing.
Maintaining Pro Rider Eydon-Plus batteries?
Although these batteries are sealed and maintenance-free, you must still keep them charged, charging your batteries is very important. Most of the damage occurs when they are allowed to run flat, so ensure you charge upon delivery and first use, should not take long as they will come out with a good energy level. If for whatever reason they are not being used then also recharge them every four to six weeks to keep the cells fresh. We would suggest that they are charged after every use, just until charged then remove from the charger, you do not want them to sit in a discharged state for any longer than required as that's when most of the damage will occur.
Once these batteries have come to the end of their life then please recycle them, there are plenty of recycling centres that will be glad of them, they are mainly made of lead which means they can be made into a different product.
