Rascal Liteway 3 4 battery pack Balance Plus AGM standard.
Replacement Rascal Liteway 3 and 4 battery packs for the Balance and Plus are the standard fit valve-regulated, sealed, safe batteries for your transportable mobility scooter.
This battery set is for the standard fit batteries. Other options are available at the bottom of this page. The standard fit is a pair of 12ah batteries. When the scooter was purchased, a larger box was also an option. If you do not know which package you have, measure it.
The standard box is (approx) (this can take 12ah & 15ah).
Height = 30cm (11.81 inches)
Width = 22cm (8.66 inches)
Depth = 12cm (4.72 inches).
The extended box is (approx) (this can take 18ah, 20ah & 22ah).
Height = 29cm (11.41 inches)
Width = 22cm (8.66 inches)
Depth = 17cm (6.69 inches).
Batteries are valve-regulated sealed lead acid combined with absorbed glass mat technology. This means they will not leak if flung about in the boot of a car, which is essential for a travel-type mobility scooter. Further, they are not hazardous and safe for public transport.

As required, this pack contains two batteries. They are sealed, not spillable, and not hazardous.
Charge your batteries fully before and after each use. Try not to allow them to become discharged to below 50%. In doing so, you will help them reach a full life. If not being used for extended periods, recharge every eight weeks to help counteract the natural self-discharge that will occur.
Type: VRLA, AGM, sealed lead.
Voltage: 12v x 2 = 24v
Capacity: 12ah each
There are two batteries in this pack for the Rascal-Liteway 3, and 4 standard battery pack, the sizes of each one are defined below:
length = 151mm
Width = 98mm
Height = 95mm (101mm with terminals)
0.187" fast-on terminals.
As stated, these are standard-sized batteries. We can offer a couple of options, so you should read the following.
Suppose you do indeed have the standard battery pack, which you can ascertain from the dimensions listed above. Then we can offer a more extended runtime version of 14ah, which will mean more miles per charge or leave more energy in the cells at the end of a day's use. They will last longer overall, saving you money in the long run.
Or you may have the extended battery pack fitted. This is a different physical size from the ones listed above. If you do not know, we suggest you measure them as the Liteway 3 and 4 could have been purchased from new with either pack fitted, depending on the supplier.
If you are a user who often runs the batteries below 50% of capacity, you shorten their life span. If it can't be helped, then consider Lithium. These can be discharged to 100% with no adverse issues and are suitable for some 5000 charges that are ten times more than the lead is as a comparison.
The links to both options will be in the alternatives tab or as easy upgrades from the drop-down menu under the available options above.
Changing Rascal-Liteway batteries?
Changing the batteries is easy. The black battery box is just a case. Turn it upside down and undo the Philips screws holding the case together. Pull the case apart and change the batteries. It should not take you more than ten minutes.
