The batteries will come out to you almost fully charged, but you will still have to charge them before first use, the charger will have lights on it indicating whether it is still charging or not, you only need to charge them until they are ready, while you may well be tempted just to fit them and go it's well worth waiting that short period to set them up in the right way before you start
