The Pride Libre and Libre-LX is a four wheel travel mobility scooter that conveniently breaks down into five pieces for easy transportation. as we are sure you already know the batteries are located on the lower section under the battery compartment cover in a battery harness so changing them is very easy.
Our batteries are sealed lead acid, they will not spill, need no maintenance and non-hazardous, valve regulated lead acid batteries or AGM are suitable for all forms of public travel but of course you should tell your airline at time of booking.

Although we state these batteries need no maintenance they do of course need charging, with this type of battery you can expect it to be capable of thousands of charges, but that is only if you discharge it a small amount. the more you discharge it the less charges it will be able to accept in its life time, so always charge it after every use, you will get much more overall use if you treat it in this way rather than use it many times then charge it when its flat, that will only help to reduce its life.
If the battery is not being used for long periods then charge it every five to seven weeks, this will help to stop the cells getting damaged which can also reduce battery life.
You should know that your old battery is recyclable and should be recycled by you, you will find there are many recycle banks very close to you ( you will be surprised how close ), you will find links to them on our recycle page.
As standard the Pride Libre and Libre-LX comes with two 12v 12ah batteries, they combine in the battery harness to provide 24v for your scooter.
There are two batteries in this pack.

Size of the individual battery is as follows:

high - 95mm
We may be able to also supply a extended runtime pack to directly replace the 12ah batteries of 15ah, this will mean more miles per charge or more capacity left in the cells at the end of the day before charging which will convert to a longer life span saving you money in the long run, the link to these will be further down the page.
