As standard, the Pride Go-Go Elite Traveller and lite have a pair of 12v 12ah batteries fitted, which is an offer to replace them. However, you should be advised that at the point of manufacture, there was the option to have the 17ah batteries as an extended pack. As these are different physical sizes, you will need the correct ones. If you know you have standard-fit 12ah ones, then these will replace, so add them to the cart. If you know you have the extended pack fitted, then in the search bar above, search for "Pride Go-Go-Elite Traveller Plus", which has the 17ah batteries as standard. They will replace yours or use the easy upgrade selectable options above.
Do not know if you have a 12ah or 17ah box!
If you need to know what you have, you can open your battery box to check. Or you could cheat a 17ah box measured to the top of the box (not the handle), which will be over six-inches high. Whereas a 12ah box will be around or less than five inches. If you take them out and there is nothing written on the side of the batteries, measure them. The specifications of this battery are below. If they are four inches high, it's a 12ah box and can take up to 14ah size. If they are six inches tall, it's a 17ah box and can take up to 22ah.
Now we have ascertained you are looking at the correct batteries. Just a little about them and how to look after them, so you do not need to replace them too often.
These are valve-regulated lead-acid batteries, VRLA, and absorbed glass mat or AGM. They will not leak, so they are ideal for a travel scooter because the battery pack may be on its side for transport. They are approved for air travel, but you should check with the individual airline encase they have any specific restrictions.
You can charge this type of battery many times to last a long time. However, every time you allow them to discharge below fifty per cent, that number will be reduced just that little bit. So charge after every use to minimise that and if not used for long periods, charge monthly.
Chemistry of battery: sealed lead-acid ( VRLA, AGM ).
The voltage of the battery: is 12v.
The capacity of the battery: 12ah.
Battery physical size:
Long - 151mm
wide - 98mm
high - 95mm
Terminals are flat spade end.
There are a few options open to you. These are the standard 12v 12ah batteries. We can supply a longer runtime of 14ah to offer more miles per charge. Links to these are in the alternatives tab or as an easy upgrade above.
If you already have 17ah batteries in your pack, they are a different physical size. We have a link to them below where you will find an option for 22ah ones to fit. Both versions can come as new, so if you need to know, you should check.
To make an educated guess of what battery box you have, if you do not already know, you might find the following useful:
The 12ah box's main body, not including the handles, will be about 125mm or 4.5 inches high. The whole box, including batteries, will weigh approx 8.5-kilos. This box can take 12ah and 14ah upgrades.
The extended 17ah box, again the main body, not including handles, will be about 200mm high, 7.75 inches, and weight will be approx 13 kilos plus; this box can take 17ah, 18ah and 22ah upgrades.
