Do you require the 12ah or the 18ah?
The models of the Quality-Life-Tech mobility scooters on this page are able to take two different size batteries, the smaller 12ah and the physically larger 18ah. If you are unsure what you need the best thing you can do is open up your battery box and take a look what you currently have installed, you will need to do this to replace the batteries anyway so good practice. Below is information on both size batteries to help you make an informed and correct decision.
Smaller box:
The 12ah box, main body not including the handles will be about 125mm or 4.5-inches high. The whole box including batteries will weigh approx 8.5-kilos.
This box can take, 12ah, 14ah, 15ah and 10ah lithium.
Larger box:
The extended 17ah box, again main body not including handles will be about 200mm high or 7.75-inches and weight will be approx 13-kilos plus.
This box can take 17ah, 18ah, 22ah and 20ah lithium.
How to charge and maintain scooter batteries?
Your new batteries will be able to take many charges over its life however most of the damage is done every time you allow them to discharge below 50-percent and that number will be reduced just that little bit. So charge after every use to try to minimise that and if not being used for long periods charge every month to keep the cells fresh.
Installation
Installing these batteries is fairly simple and can be done with just a screwdriver and some patience. Flip the battery box on its head (on a cloth of some sort to not scratch it) and undo the seven or so screws holding it together. Flip it back over and take off the lid. Inside you will see two batteries and four wires, two to each. Perhaps take a picture or memorise where the wires go so you know how to put them back in the correct place when you swap the batteries over.
