The Pride GoGo-SC44e can come with either a pair of 12ah, or a pair of 17ah batteries, they are a different physical size and one will not fit in the other. So the first thing to check is which of these you have, thereafter we can offer extended options on both of these, more info will be further down the page. Your batteries are held within a case that comes off your scooter just turn it on its back and rest on a soft surface and you will see the screws holding the lid on. Undo these to see the batteries, if you are just trying to check what you have then just measure one of them, so need to pull them out.
After you have fitted your new batteries them charge them fully, they will come out to you almost fully charged so it will not take that long but if in doubt then leave them overnight.
Charge as soon as you can after each and every use, it will never do this kind of battery any good sitting around in a partially discharged state and could shorten life span. If not being used then charge every two months to attempt to overcome the natural self discharge that will occur over this period.
VRLA sealed lead acid batteries (SLA) are non-spill, non-hazardous and maintenance free. As stated above the Pride GoGo SC44e or SC44x Elite Traveller can come with either 12ah or 17ah as standard, we have a few different options on these, for extended runtime 14ah or 15ah batteries to directly replace the 12ah ones.
17Ah hour batteries and 22ah batteries to replace the 17Ah ones, the links to these options will be on the alternatives tab. We can now also offer LiFePo4 batteries to replace both of these, further increasing the lifespan of them.
To make a educated guess of what battery box you have if you do not already know you might find the following useful.
The 12ah box, main body not including the handles will be about 125mm or 4.5-inches high, the whole box including batteries will weigh approx 8.5k, this box can take, 12ah, 14ah or 15ah.
The extended 17ah box, again main body not including handles will be about 200mm high 7.75-inches and weight will be approx 13k plus, this box can take 17ah, 18ah, 22ah.
